I was drawn to the study of health and nutrition in my mid-twenties. After spending a quarter-century with severe eczema, chronic sinus disease, constant stomachaches, and chronic fatigue I finally decided to do some self-study. I embarked on a two week cleanse, and by the end of the two weeks the eczema that had plagued me since kindergarten had disappeared. After doing some experimentation with an elimination diet I discovered that I was gluten-intolerant, and my life has never been the same since!
Discovering that I had food allergies prompted me to figure out the answer to the question, "I know what NOT to eat, but what CAN I eat?" Lucky for me the kitchen has always been one of my favorite places, and I have spent hundreds of happy hours there over the last five years, discovering new foods and creating recipes that are based on real, whole foods without sacrificing taste, variety, or satisfaction! I avoid all common allergens, such as gluten, dairy, corn, eggs, and soy in my cooking and still always have happy dinner guests.
I believe that good nutrition, and food made and served with love, is the basis for physical health - especially for women who are pregnant or have recently had a baby. But as a busy mom, I know that it's challenging to create healthy meals and snacks for my family every day, without spending a lot of time in the kitchen. My expanded wellness program aims to help individuals and families learn how to plan, shop and prepare quick, delicious and wholesome meals because feeding yourself and your loved ones real should be a labor of love, not a chore.
